七夕用英文怎么說？
七夕節(jié)是中國傳統(tǒng)節(jié)日之一，每年農(nóng)歷（the lunar calendar）七月初七這一天，是我國漢族的傳統(tǒng)節(jié)日七夕節(jié)。
七夕節(jié)有“乞巧”的風(fēng)俗，且由來已久，古時年輕女孩子們在這一天乞求巧奪天工的好手藝，同時會乞求一段美好姻緣。
七夕節(jié)在英語中的表達(dá)有很多種，因?yàn)槠呦?jié)又被叫做“乞巧節(jié)”，因此可以稱作“The Begging Festival”。
此外還有Double-Seventh Day,Tanabata/’t?n?’ba:t?/festival,Chinese Valentine’s Day,Qixi Festival,而最常用的是“Magpie/?m?ɡpa?/Festival”?！癿agpie”指的是“喜鵲”。傳說牛郎和織女每年于鵲橋（The Magpie-Bridge）相會，由此就有了“Magpie Festival”的說法。而牛郎織女的故事也成為如今七夕節(jié)流傳最廣泛的起源傳說。

1.The Begging Festival：乞巧節(jié)
“乞巧”的這個“乞”，我們可以說beg，也可以用plead這個詞。plead to be endowed with perfect sewing skills.
2.doing needlework：針線活
七夕有乞巧的風(fēng)俗，乞巧是女孩子為了精進(jìn)自己的女紅手藝，女紅(注：這里的“紅”讀音是“工”，不要讀錯了)，也就是針線活，用英語說就是doing needlework。
3.lunar calendar：陰歷
現(xiàn)在通行的陽歷是solar calendar。lunar表示“月亮的”，英文名Luna其實(shí)是月亮女神的名字，有取這個名字的女生是不是覺得很開心呢?
4.cowherd：放牛人，也即牛郎
同樣的一個詞是shepherd，羊倌，兩個詞都有一個-herd后綴，herd有“放牧人”的意思，不過通常都是作為后綴來構(gòu)成“XX牧人”的詞。
